This document concerns a joint ḫarrānu business venture for trading (good quality) beer:
Bēl-eṭēri-Šamaš, son of Aplāja, and Enlil-uballiṭ, son of Rībat-Gula, have started a business venture together (ana ḫarrāni ittâḫameš […]) and invested five barrels of good quality beer each.
As much as (mimma mala) they make from the (beer) barrels ( muḫḫi dannūti), half a share of the profit (aḫa zitti ša Bēl-eṭēri-Šamaš) is that of Bēl-eṭēri-Šamaš.
The one who conducts the business ([ša dullu] īpušu), is going to pay the rent for a house (idī bīti) out of [their joint property] (ina karêšunu). The hirelings: he will give the “silver of their hands” (kaspa ša qātīšunu) and the rent for the hirelings (idī agrī, see Jursa 2005: 227, no 25).
The document ends with three witnesses and a scribe: […], the son of Balāssu, Gimil-Šamaš, son of Nabû-ēṭir, Ḫabaṣīru, son of Nergal-uballiṭ, and the scribe: Taqīš, son of Rībat.
