Letter of Arad-Nabû to Bēl-iddin, “his brother”, complaining about Šulaya (Š), a man he is in conflict with. The sender had called Š to account, and in reaction to this, Š raised accusations against him. The sender informs the recipient that Š brought barley from 20 villages and gave the sender compensation (ubbuṭu) obtained (našû) from the rest (of the villages) (šittu), but is not aiding the sender (ḫarrānu ana šēpē šakānu) in accordance with what the recipient wrote to Š, and gave him less barley than expected and is needed. When confronted with it, Š swore that he would take care of it, which is why the sender now asks the recipient to do what is necessary about the barley and to send Š sealed document quickly so they can make adjustments. The sender also informs the recipient that he will talk to a scribe about takpu-baskets (takpu) for 3 men of the workforce (pirru) and requests boats come to the dams of (tp)Kabaltu. In closing, he asks for a reply, for instructions and about the well-being of the recipient (ṭēmu u šulmu lū šemû).
