Letter of Bēl-iddin (BI) and his men (nišī qātē) to the Royal Resident (qīpu), the High Priest (šatammu) and the Temple Scribe (ṭupšar bīti), “their lords”, quoting a previous message by the recipients about not using silver (qātu nadû) as long as they agree (pānu banû). The senders now complain that they are perishing without cloths (muṣiptu), that they have nothing at their disposal and cannot do anything, explicitly stating that they are angry (pānu ba'āšu). They ask that the recipients settle the account and send them their full allowances (kurummatu). In return, the senders state that they are looking after the recipients’ service (maṣṣartu) and assure the recipients of their respect for them. In closing, BI informs the recipients that he owes a lot of silver for gifts (nūptu) he received from tribal leaders (nasīku).
