Letter of Šulaya (possibly chief of oblates, rab širki) (Š) to the Temple Scribe (ṭupšar bīti), “his lord”, informing him that he has arrived in (tp)Akkad, and reproaching the sender for not helping him when he wrote him on the way to (tp)Akkad from (tp)GA-BI-ṬÈ.KI. he then asks for silver that had been promised to him in a letter by the High Priest for two boats from a Babylonian to pay this man, with interest for the silver accruing at the sender’s expanse. Š also requests substitutes (ḫalpu) for the men under his command because they are fed up. He closes by advising the recipient not to base his planning for the work at hand on previous experiences because this time, the work is hard.
