Paraphrase

Letter of Nergal-ēṭir (maybe /Nabû-erība) (NE) to Marduk-ēṭir (/Bēl-šumu-iškun//Dābibī, Temple Scribe, ṭupšar bīti) (ME), “his father”, elaborately thanking the recipient for sending him the full report about some lawsuits. The sender then informs ME that ME’s messenger refuses to give barley to any man other than Marduk-zēru-ušabši, although it is barley that should be paid to other men. He asks ME to come and sort this matter. In closing, he expresses his wish that Bēl fulfills the recipient’s wishes.
