Paraphrase

Letter of Nadnaya (N) to Marduk-ēṭir (/Bēl-šumu-iškun//Dābibī, Temple Scribe, ṭupšar bīti) (ME), “his brother”, answering a previous message of the recipient about KUR.RA-garments stolen from Bēl-ēpuš (BE) in the negative – N states he has not heard anything about them and refers the recipient to BE. He also expresses his unwillingness to comply with a message by the High Priest (šatammu) about giving them land because they did not pay their share in the harvest (as rent) (šibšu) for the last two years and the sender is responsible for the (share of) the palace. The temple seems to claim that the land in question is not fit for cultivation (or a large yield), while the sender maintains that it is land in a well-irrigated area.
