Paraphrase

Letter of Šumaya (Š) (likely /Munnabittu, offering shepherd, rēˀi ginê) to Marduk-ēṭir (/Bēl-šumu-iškun//Dābibī, Temple Scribe, ṭupšar bīti) (ME), “his lord”, accompanying two men, Nabû-udammiq and [PN] to the recipient who should be sent on without delay (lā bâtu, ḫarrānu ana šēpē šakānu). The sender complains, employing an oath by Bēl, that the sheep and goats ME gave to him are old, although they are starting to look better. Because the animals are too far away from Š, he suggests that ME does the accounting of the animals and delivers their total to him. In closing, he inquires about ME’s instructions and his well-being.
