Paraphrase

Letter by Šamaš-lēˀi (ŠL) to the High Priest (šatammu, Marduk-šākin-šumi/Bēl-šumu-iškun//Dābibī) and Nādinu (= Nabû-nādin-šumi/Bēl-šumu-iškun//Dābibī, Temple Scribe, ṭupšar bīti), “his lords”, informing them that he is in battle for the king and demanding noblemen and royal courtiers (rēš šarri) from the recipients. ŠL also requests 5 slaves (amīlūtu) and 20;0 dates and wants to be made responsible for distributing barley (pūt parāsu… našû), likely to facilitate logistics. ŠL refers the recipients to Ša-Nabû-mannu for information on what ŠL gave to Rēmūt-Bēl. In closing, ŠL swears an oath by Bēl that although the recipients heard what ŠL needed, they did not comply.
