Letter of Bēl-nādin-apli (Governor of Esagil, bēl pīḫāti ša Esagil) (BNA) to Bēl-gimlanni (rent farmer, ša muḫḫi sūti) (BG), “his brother”, about a meeting he had with the High Priest of Eanna (šatammu) (in Babylon) about the amount BG (as rent farmer) delivered to the Eanna, specifying that BNA should receive 3.3% of the temple harvest, i.e., of the 10000;0 of barley BG delivered last year, but that BG gave Ṣillaya, who was sent by BNA, only 220;0. BNA now demands the missing barley with interest and the barley from the current year, as well as the dates from the current year. The sender discusses another transaction, 400;0 of dates which he gave BG via Bēl-rēmanni (BR) for barley. BR sent ships for transport, but did not receive the full amount of barley in exchange, only 332;0. BNA now demands the missing 68;0 of barley and its interest, which BG should give to BNA’s messenger he has already sent to him. BNA stresses the urgency of this request (nubattu lā bâtu, kapdu, ḫarrānu ana šēpē šakānu).
