Letter of Nabû-aḫu-iddin (NAI) (Royal Overseer, ša rēš šarri bēl piqitti) to Nādinu (N) (/Bēl-aḫḫē-iqīša//Egibi) (temple scribe, ṭupšarru ša Eanna), "his brother", about his difficult workload of digging, a lack of allowances (kurummatu), and (royal) pressure through an agent (bēl piqitti), urging N to send wool since NAI expended all his silver and wool to hired workers. He also requests 100 workers, hirelings and workers from (tp)Raqqat-Šamaš, who are supposed to be supplied with allowances and wages before they are sent to him, and that the gardeners of the temple fields are levied as well. He informs N about local prices for barley, but also that there is not enough barley available locally to fulfill NAI’s needs. The situation is so dire that NAI requests 5;0 flour as the hired workers demand allowances.
