Nabû-mukīn-apli/Nādinu//Dābibi (NMA), High Priest (šatammu) of Eanna, and Nabû-aḫu-iddin (NAI), Royal Overseer (ša rēš šarri bēl piqitti) of Eanna, address 14 temple enterers (ērib bīti) of Ištar of Uruk, members of the priestly assembly (kiništu) of Eanna, and freemen (mār banî). Their question is only partly legible; it concerns the income-box (quppu) for silver, a delivery from Babylon, from (ina pāni) the king […] that the enterers handed over (dagālu Š) to […], and the guilt (ḫīṭu) of Bānia (B) and Eanna-līpī-uṣur (ELU), whom NMA and NAI want to question (šâlu).
Temple enterers answer that they did not find any evidence (amāru) of fraud (sipru) committed by B and ELU. During the watch (ina muḫḫi izzizi) of B and ELU, iron was discovered in the box (quppu) for silver donations (lit. income, erbu) brought to Eanna from the Great Gate (bābu rabû) of Eanna. But B and ELU did not commit any grave guilt or sacrilegious theft of gods’ property (mimma bīšu ša ana ḫīṭi u tabli ša makkūr ilī). Temple enterers did not see any temple property among the possessions of B and ELU.
