Ša-Nabû-išallim (ŠNI), the slave (qallu) of Nabû-šarru-uṣur (NŠU), the Royal Overseer (rēš šarri bēl piqitti) requested a plot of a land (qaqqaru) of Eanna from NŠU, the Royal Overseer (rēš šarri bēl piqitti) of the temple, Gabbi-ilāni-šarru-uṣur (GIŠU), the Royal Resident (qīpu) of the temple and from the temple officials. This land is designed as low quality (a kaslu-land and kālû-land), located in the domain (līmu) of the Lady of Uruk, on the upper (tp)Royal Canal (nār šarri) adjacent to the field of the Lady of Uruk at the disposition of Nabû-udammiq/Šamaš-zēru-ibni.
ŠNI promised to cultivate the land, which was then granted to him. He was required to clear it of (wildly growing) shrubbery (abattu), plant dilmun-date palms, establish inside a garden-plot (šikitta šakānu) and enclose it with a wall (igāri lamû). For ten years, he would have usufruct rights in return for his labor. After that period, he would owe a rent amounting to two-thirds of the land’s harvest.
In presence of NŠU, the Royal Overseer (rēš šarri bēl piqitti) of Eanna and GIŠU, the Royal Resident (qīpu) of Eanna.
