BE 8, 86 records a witness deposition concerning the dispossession of Sūqāya, son of Līšir, from a field belonging to Ayamiri, son of Daḫamanu. The field had been placed at Sūqāya’s disposal (ina pāni), possibly in a rent/lease agreement.

Mušēzib-Bēl, son of Ubār, descendant of Ile’’i-ilī, the overseer of soldiers (šaknu ša rēdīa), seized the field from Sūqāya(ina qātī Sūqāya ikēmu). Mušēzib-Bēl was in the presence (ša ina pānīšunu) of five mār banî men, when he removed the field from Sūqāya’s possession. The document records the seizure of the field. The deposition serves to establish that there are witnesses for the dispossession of Sūqāya of a field previously under his control, potentially providing evidence for a subsequent legal claim.

The five mār banî men are named at the beginning of the document; they are: Enlil-bēlšunu, son of Šamaš-iddin, […]-ani, son of Enlil-iqīša, […], son of Šamaš-iddin, Aplāya, son of Nāṣir, and Nabû-tattannu-uṣur, son of Nabû-ēṭir-napšati.

The scribe is Enlil-[…], son of Bēlšunu, and he is mentioned right after the description of Mušēzib-Bēl’s actions.
