A letter from Yadī-il (YI) to Iqīša (I), his “brother,” regarding I’s reaction to YI’s assumption of the “services of the gods” (dullātu ša ilī). YI inquires why I has acted as if he no longer wants to be his brother since hearing of YI’s assignment. YI assures I that he is writing of his own volition, and asks I to find out who established the wording of their formal brotherhood agreement, so that he can be sure that their brotherhood truly is established.
