After Rēmūt-ilī/Šulāya (RI) had instituted(?) legal proceedings (dīnu) [...] against Bēl-aḫḫē-erība/Aplāya (BAE) by asking, why he keeps a ram (marked) with the star symbol of the Lady of Uruk amongst his sheep and goats, they have argued their case before Bēl-šarru-uṣur/Rēmūtu, deputy governor (šanû) of (tp)Piqūdu on the (tp)Tigris and the (tp)Royal Canal (nār šarri), and a group of 5 elders (šībūtu). They discussed (awû) it (and decided) that BAE has to turn over (târu) 5 2-year-old rams to RI, because he had unlawfully (? ḫabālu; lit.: a-na ˹ḫa˺-ba-˹il?!˺) slaughtered one 1 ram from the fold (qabuttu) of RI that belonged to the Lady of Uruk. The case is thus fully settled.
Scribe: Šadûnu/Nabû-kēšir(?!) (lit.: Šadûnu/Nabû-kimir).
Rēmūt-ilī/Šulāya, probably a herdsman (nāqidu) of Eanna, is known from other texts; see Sandowicz 2019: 97. The damaged name of the deputy governor might alterntaively be Nabû-šarru-uṣur/Rēmūtu.
