Letter of Šūzubu (Š) to the High Priest (šatammu), “his father”, about goats which the recipient gave to Marduk-erība (ME), informing him that 9 goats are now spent. The details about the goats are presented in a message by ME, which the sender relays in the form of a long quote. ME said that he sold 3 goats for his own need, sold 3 more from the (tp)Takkīru canal for silver, sold 1 mušētiqtu-goat to Nergal-ušēzib and Nergal-ēṭir/[…], sold 1 mušētiqtu-goat to co-workers and slaughtered a diseased goat, meaning that now, 50(+x) goats are left, and ME also emphasized that he should have a shepherd and a herdsman assigned to him according to the order of the king as well as of the Eanna, requiring Š to send a message to the High Priest.
