Letter of Aplāya (A) to Nabû-aḫḫē-iddin (/Nergal-ušallim//Nūr-Sîn, High Priest, šatammu), “his brother”, confirming that he fulfilled his order to hand over barley to the deputy governor of the Sealand (šanû). The sender also talks about a delivery of gold from the recipient, and swears that, after checking it with the royal weight, 2 shekels of gold were missing from as well as 20 shekels. The recipient should quickly (ḫanṭiš) have them delivered; otherwise, the sender will hold back the equivalent in value in dates, 40;0. The sender also tells the recipient to take care of the service (maṣṣartu) of the Royal Resident (qīpu) and Ṣillaya. When they travel through, they should get rafts (ḫallimu) and take the dates (A is now withholding) with them (našû). If the recipient prefers, he can send a golden mukarrišu-bowl (mukarrišu) (to make up for the missing precious metal) and receive dates in return, 1;0 of dates for every shekel of silver the bowl is worth.
