Letter of Šumaya to Marduk-ēṭir (/Bēl-šumu-iškun//Dābibī, Temple Scribe, ṭupšar bīti), “his father”, about a woman who came to the recipient, asking him to take care of her and assuring him that he will be compensated for it. The sender informs the recipient that he had legal trouble in Babylon and could not get due process – as the king is mad with the entire city, the sender was simply arrested instead of hearing witnesses and being questioned or even sent to the river ordeal. In closing, he asks for the recipient’s support.
