Paraphrase

Letter by Marduk (M) and Innin-šumu-uṣur to Marduk-šākin-šumi (/Bēl-šumu-iškun//Dābibī, Temple Scribe, ṭupšar bīti), “their father”, in connection with the recapture of the city by king Nabopolassar and the subsequent administrative reorganization. The senders stress their long-standing loyalty to the sender even before the recapture of the city by the Assyrians (nukurtu ša Uruk, hostility in/of Uruk). The sender states that the recipient was assigned houses, prebends and gardens of Babylon by the king and that people are benefiting from prebends and gardens only have to pay a nidintu-gift (nidintu) to the king from it. The sender informs the recipient that he sent a female slave (amtu) and her son to him. She is supposed to tell the recipient about a “brother” (aḫu) of the sender to whom the senders’ income should be assigned. M complains about the Royal Resident (qīpu) enjoying the privilege of the votive offering (ikribu) while the senders are at a disadvantage. M asks the recipient to look after the person the female slave (amtu) will refer him to and stresses that the recipient is the senders’ benevolence.
