Paraphrase

Letter of Zēru-ukīn (possibly Nabû-zēru-ukīn/Nabû-kāṣir//Arrabtu, scribe, ṭupšarru) and Nabû-karābī-išme to the High Priest (of Eanna, šatammu) and Nabû-aḫu-iddin (Royal Overseer, ša rēš šarri bēl piqitti), “his lords”, about barley of Nergal-aḫḫē-erība, who gave them 100;0 of barley less than he was supposed to do. The senders therefore now ask for instructions by the recipients (ṭēmu lū šemû). The senders then answer a message by the recipients asking whether a measuring official (mandidu) is measuring barley fraudulently. The senders swear that the official measured correctly, but that he measured only a small amount, so they did not pay him as much as he wanted, and told him that they would measure the barley themselves instead. They denounce a message by likely a third party to the senders about this issue as fraudulent and urge (kapdu) the recipients for their opinion (on this) (ṭēmu lū šemû).
