Letter of Zēru-ukīn and Nabû-karābī-išme to Nādinu (/Bēl-aḫḫē-iqīša//Egibi) (N), “their father”, informing him that together with Aḫu-iddin (AI), they visited villages in the area of (tp)Piqūdū and that the barley had already been brought in. They found a good exchange rate via AI through a man named Nabû-šūzibanni (NŠ) from the village of (tp)Zibal, 1000;0 of barley at a rate of 62;0 for 1 mina, half a mile away from the canal and transport costs of 0;0.2 per 1;0 to get the barley to the canal, and made the purchase. They mention 10 minas of silver which they were supposed to receive, but 7 shekels were missing. They now request white silver to pay for the remainder of the 1000;0 of barley, and the missing seven shekels in white silver – they had paid it with silver in small pieces (qallalu), which needs to be replaced with white silver to prevent the sellers from deducting barley for these 7 shekels. They ask for N’s decision on this. They also request one well-arranged offering basket (sellu tabnitu) and cotton (kiṭinnû) for NŠ. They then report that they tried to buy willow-wood with oxidised (?) silver (ṭuḫḫû), but the silver was not accepted. They therefore request white silver and a decision on this from N.
