Paraphrase

4 people (including high city officials and dignitaries), sided with (itti) Bābu-iqīša/Usātu (BI) in front (ina pāni) 4 witnesses (mukinnu) and declared (našû umma) against (ana pāni) Itti-Enlil-balāṭu/Usātu: “the house of BI within which you reside, return it! Give it to BI! Get out of the house!”

The 4 declarers: Gula-šumu-līšir, the Governor of Nippur (šandabakku), Marduk-šarru-uṣur/Mušēzib//Sîn-šadûnu, Anu-šarru-uṣur, the royal resident (qīpu) of Nippur, Šulummu/Tabnēa,

The 4 witnesses: Nabû-zēru-ibni, the Zazakku-official, Šamaš-mukīn-aḫi, a courtier (ša rēš šarri) and harbormaster (rab kāri), Mušēzib-Nabû, a courtier and chief craftsmen (rab ummâni), Bānia/Ina-bīt-Ea-kittu;

Although not stated, the fact that both parties share the same father’s name, Usātu, and the fact that the dispute concerns a house, suggest that they were brothers.

The same legal case is the subject of BE 8, 48.
