Paraphrase

Ḫašdāya/Talīm receives (ina qātē maḫāru) 5š of silver from Arad-Gula/Šamaš-iqīša. It is the ilku-obligation of Nabû-ittannu/Rapê for: Cam. 02!-XI-15 – Cam. 03-IV-15.

3 witnesses and the scribe Šamaš-ēreš/Kalbāya.

Aramaic epigraph: Ḫašdāya (חשדי)

Arad-Gula/Šamaš-iqīša = mār šipri of the šandabakku.

Regarding the ilku period and date of the tablet: The reconstruction that equates the start of the ilku period with the day on which the tablet was drafted is speculative and, unavoidably, semi-circular, to some extent. Given that the tablet was drafted on m.XI, it is highly unlikely that this refers to Cam. 03, as this would place the drafting seven months after the end of the ilku period. The date of writing should therefore be Cam. [02]-XI-15. Clearly, the start of the ilku period must predate its end date, Cam. 03-IV-15; any date within Cam. 03 is incompatible with a drafting date of [02]-XI-15. It is thus assumed that the drafting of the tablet coincides with the beginning of the ilku period. On this basis, the emendation of “2”, rather than “3”, in line 2 (as shown in the BE 8 facsimile) is required. The available CDLI image is too bright to allow a proper examination of the tablet.

The Aramaic epigraph on the left edge was not copied in BE 8.
