The brothers Anu-aḫu-uṣur/Bēl-nāṣir, Ibāya/Bēl-nāṣir, and Nabû-aḫḫē-šullim/Bēl-nāṣir divide a date grove with Qabû/Nabû-nāṣir (Q) (introduced in direct speech: … ana … kīam iqbû umma).
Its upper inheritance shares (zittu elītu) consist of three parts: adjacent to the properties of the sons of Aya-aḫu, (set aside) for (work during) m.V, and (an area) located both within the city (qabalti āli) and in the countryside (ṣēru). Its lower inheritance shares (zittu šaplītu) consist of two parts: (an area) within the city, and (an area) adjacent to that which is (set aside) for m.V.
The land is divided (zâzu) equally between the two parties. The quitclaim clause applies only to Q. The curse by Marduk and Zarpanitu against changing the terms secures the arrangement.
5 witnesses.
Scribe: Nabû-šumu-ukīn//Rab-banê.
Notes
- The issue's place could be interpreted as either Ṣurru or Burāti (written as 'URU-AMAR-MEŠ'). In each case, the spelling is unique. The localization in proximity to Uruk is fairly certain based on the theophoric element of Anu in the name of a member of one party.
- It is a duplicate of FLP 1524 (Dillard 1975 no. 06b).
