Paraphrase

Letter of Šamaš-ḫatin-enši (/Šamaš-zēru-iqīša, scribe, ṭupšarru) to the High Priest (of Eanna, šatammu) and Nabû-aḫu-iddin (Royal Overseer, ša rēš šarri bēl piqitti), “his fathers”, requesting sheep for the regular offering of Šamaš, in particular suckling male kalūmu-lambs (kalūmu).

Legacy Paraphrase

Iltameš-ḫadir (mdutu-ḫa-di-[ir], presumably Iltameš-idrī, the Royal Resident [qīpu] of the Ebabbar of Larsa) writes to “his fathers,” the High Priest (šatammu) and Nabû-aḫu-iddin (in all likelihood the Royal Overseer [ša rēš šarri bēl piqitti] of Eanna). He complains that sheep for regular offerings (ginû) for Šamaš are missing and ask for 30 animals to be sent. The salutation formula invokes Šamaš and Aya.
