Case of misappropriation of the animals of the Eanna
5 sheep of the Lady of Uruk, branded with the star, were seen in the herd of Kīnāya/Nergal-ina-ṭēšî-ēṭir//Dannēa (K) (ša ina ṣēni ... amrāma). Zēria/Balāssu (Z), the herdsman of the Lady of Uruk, stated that 3 of them had been taken away by stealth (ina sarti) from his flock. Z established the case against K in the assembly (kiništu). K was sentenced to give 90 head of sheep and goats as compensation, according to the 30-for-1 penalty.
Concerning the remaining 2 of the 5 sheep branded with the star that had been seen in K’s herd, K stated that since Nbn 7.XII, Suqāya (S), the shepherd, had entrusted them to his herd. K shall bring S before Nabû-šarru-uṣur, the Royal Overseer (rēš šarri bēl piqitti) of the Eanna, and the temple officials (bēl piqnēti) (ibbakama u inamdin), otherwise, he must give sixty animals in addition to the ninety animals, to the Lady of Uruk.
