Šumu-ukīn/Bēl-zēri//Basia, the rent-farmer (ša muḫḫi šūti) of the Lady-of-Uruk, arrested (ṣabātu) Karēa/Nabû-aḫḫē-iddin (K) because of a crime (sartu), and (later), due to his sickness (murṣu), he transferred (him) (nadānu) in shackles (šemeru parzillu) from the prison (bīt kīli) to Bēl-ušallim/Šamaš-iddin//Šumāti (BU), so that he might heal him (balāṭu D). BU guarantees (pūt šēpi … našî) vis-à-vis (ina qāti) ŠU for the presence of K. The day ŠU demands the presence (rēšu) of K, BU shall bring him forth (abāku) and hand him over to ŠU. If he does not bring him forth and hands him over, non-compliance will result in the king’s and god’s punishment (ḫīṭu clause).
