Gimillu/Innin-šumu-ibni (G) insisted on not dealing with Nabû-aḫu-iddin (NAI), Royal Overseer (ša rēš šarri bēl piqitti) of Eanna. His behaviour is recorded retrospectively before 9 freemen (mār banî).
First, G fled (ḫalāqu) instead of accepting (maḫāru) a tablet (ṭuppu) that NAI tried to give him. This tablet records the herdsmen’s (nāqidu) remainders (rēḫu) of sheep, goats, and wool for Cyr. 04.
Nabû-udammiq/Nabû-ēṭir//Gimil-Nanāya reports that G told him to tell NAI that he (G) would by Šamaš meet NAI on the 1st day of m.XII.
Then NAI sent (šapāru) Ardia/Itti-Bēl-abnu (A) for G, but G told A that he would not even come to NAI if he had sent 10 men to fetch him.
Scribe: Gimillu/Innin-zēru-iddin.
G makes a positive promissory (introduced by ki adī) to meet NAI.
