Lū-dānu/Ibni-Ištar (LD) had been caught stealing (ina sarti ṣabātu) by Tammeš-barak/Nabû-zēru-ukīn (restoration of the patronym based on AnOr 8 76: 13), who handed him over (nadānu) to Nergal-nāṣir/Nanāya-iddin. Without interrogation (mašʼaltu) LD reveals, how he broke into the house of Nergal-nāṣir/Nanāya-ibni (NN) at the (tp)Takkīru Canal at night with his accomplices Murašû/Zēru-ibni (M), Ištar-aḫu-iddin/[...]a, Basia/Ibni-Ištar and his brother Innin-aḫḫē-iddin/Ibni-Ištar. They made an opening (niksu nakāsu), entered (erēbu), carried off (našû, ni-iš!-šu-ú) a shovel (nasḫiptu) with an iron tip (appātu), [...] iron pickaxes (kalappu), 3 iron spades (marru), garments (muṣiptu), 1;0 barley, 1;0 dates, and deposited (paqādu) them with Zēru-ibni, the fisherman (or “thief”, lit.: bāʼiru), and father of M. One of these stolen goods (qāt ṣibitti), a shovel marked with the star symbol was placed in Eanna, after TB had confiscated it from LD.
Written in the presence of Nabû-šarru-uṣur, Royal Overseer (ša rēš šarri bēl piqitti) of Eanna, Gabbi-ilāni-šarru-uṣur, Royal Resident (qīpu) of Eanna, and Zēria/Ibnāya//Egibi.
