Letter of Nabû-mukīn-apli (Marduk-šumu-iddin//Balāṭu, scribe of the Eanna, ṭupšarru) (NMA) to Nabû-aḫu-iddin (Royal Overseer, ša rēš šarri bēl piqitti) (NAI), "his brother", about messengers of the High Priest of the temple of Amurru (in the Sealand) who visited him because of barley, but it had not been inspected yet. As the sender could not help them, he sent them on to the recipient to sort out the matter. NMA then asks about sheep which are readily available to be bought in the city, but as he did not receive silver or wool from the recipient and because he does not access the storehouse without NAI’s permission, he is unsure what to do. He requests NAI’s decision and also informs him that the sheep in Uruk, beyond those in the steppe, are numerous and will be brought, likely to be available for purchase.
