Paraphrase

Bānia/Tabnēa//Bā’iru (B) has voluntarily sold (nadānu) Nūrēa (N) his slave (qallu) for ½ mina of silver, a fixed purchase price (šīm hariṣ), to the temple property.

B bears responsibility (pūtu našû) for contestants (sēḫû) and claimants (pāqirānu), as well as the status of royal slave (arad šarrūti) and the status of freeman (mār banûtu) concerning N.

The document was written in the presence of (ina ušuzzi) Sîn-iddin, Royal Resident (qīpu) of Eanna. 3 witnesses are listed. The scribe is Nabû-bān-aḫi/Ibnāya//Ekur-zākir, in (tp)Ṣūru.

Note: The temple usually didn’t buy slaves. It is possible that this unusual transaction is linked to the persona of the seller (Bānia/Tabnēa//Bā’iru), who is later attested as High Priest (šatammu) of Eanna (see commentary in Kleber 2008, p. 150).
