Interrogation (mašʾaltu) of Kīnāya/Kalbāya (K), gatekeeper (atû) of the Gate of Wellbeing (bāb salīmi), conducted by Nabû-šarru-uṣur, Royal Overseer of the Eanna (ša rēš šarri bēl piqitti), Bēl-uballiṭ/Mušallim-Marduk//Gimil-Nanāya, Elder Brother (aḫu rabû), Bēl-nādin-apli/Nabû-aḫḫē-bulliṭ//Aḫḫūtu, Libluṭ, Keeper of the Royal Box of the Eanna (ša rēš šarri ša muḫḫi quppi), and twenty-four temple enterers (ērib bīti), members of the priestly assembly (kiništu) and freemen (mār banî), concerning stolen sheep and meat probably belonging to the temple herdsmen, under the supervision of the chief of flocks (rab būli), Innin-šarru-uṣur/Nergal-ušallim//Sîn-lēqi-unnīnī, cited in the text.

The temple authorities found the following in the house of K:

  • 1 male lamb belonging to Ṣillāya/Zabidāya;

  • 1 male lamb belonging to Nabû-īpuš/Ḫaštia (or Tarti-ili?);

  • 2 male lambs belonging to Nabû-mušētiq-uddê/Nanāya-iddin;

  • 1 male lamb belonging to …/Aḫūšunu;

  • 1 she-lamb, income (erbu), at the disposal of Bēl-ēṭir/Dannu-Nergal.

In total, six male sheep were fetched (abāku) from his house, four of which bore the Eanna star. These had been removed (aṣû) from the Eanna by K during the night.

Additionally, 46 cuts of meat, including 2 heads marked with the Eanna star, and 5 minas of wool were recovered (našû) from his house together with the sheep.
