Content

Paraphrase

Kalbāya/Iqīša//Basia (K) and Mukīn-apli/Zēria (MA) of the king (ša šarri) conclude a contract (uˀiltu eˀēlu) to jointly cultivate barley (dullu ša uṭṭati) on the land of the Lady of Uruk.

Together, K and MZ will give (nadānu) a royal greeting gift (nāmurtu) and the king’s provisioning (šuṣbuttu ša šarri). They will cultivate the field with the amount of seed that they indicate (kullumu) and the oxen and plowmen that they share (zâzu). They shall share the usufruct.

Each took a copy of the contract (šaṭāru).

Written at the (tp)Quay of Nanāya (Kār-Nanāya), the estate (šīḫu) of Lady-of-Uruk, in (tp)Tīl-atūnāti.
