Lease contract expressed in direct speech.
Nabû-bēlšunu/Marduk//Kurî (NB) receives the autorisation from Nabû-šarru-uṣur, the Royal Overseer of the Eanna (rēš šarru bēl piqitti) and from the temple officials (bēl piqnēti), to lease 2;2.3 of gizzētu-land on the (tp)Nār-Innin, on the opposite bank (aḫi ullâ) of the (tp)Nār-gamadê. The plot of land of the Eanna (qaqqaru) had not been entered (into the register) of the rent farm of Šumu-ukīn(/Bēl-zēri//Basia) (ina sūti ša Šumu-ukīn la šaṭru). On this land, NB will cultivate date orchards (ana zāqipūti), plant date palms, set up a garden plot at their base (litt. install a garden plot: šikitti išakkan), dig its canals, and supply them with water. He will also plant willows along the canal.
For the first ten years of cultivation, he may keep the entire yield for himself (mimma mala ina libbi ippuš pānišu idaggal). After this period, he will retain one-third of the harvest and give the remainder to the Eanna.
In the presence of Nabû-šarru-uṣur, Royal Overseer of the Eanna; Libluṭ, Keeper of the Royal Box in Eanna (ša rēš šarri ša muḫḫi quppi); Madānu-aḫḫē-iddin/Gimillu//Šigûa; Nabû-ēṭir-napšāti/Arad-Bēl//Egibi; Nabû-bān-aḫi/Nabû-balāssu-iqbi//Sîn-lēqi-unnīnī; Innin-zēru-ušebši/Balāssu
