Nabû-dīnī-īpuš, the Chief of Seals (rab unqāti) conveyed several orders from the king Nabonidus regarding the organisation of the cult in the Eanna to the courtier Nabû-šarru-uṣur (ša rēš šarri), in presence of Nabû-šumu-līšir/Ibni-ili//Ibni-ili, Aplāya/Bēl-iddin//Egibi, .../Ašarēdu//Ṭābiḫu, Nabû-aḫḫē-bulliṭ/Ša-Nabû-šū, the temple scribe, and Zēria/Ibnāya//Egibi.
The administration should follow the model established in the Esagil of Babylon and the Ezida of Borsippa for the allocations of the brewers (sīrāšu) and the bakers (nuḫatimmu), as well as for the land allotments to be granted to the rab banê. The rab banê are also to receive the prebends of the brothers Nabû-bān-aḫi/Arad-Nabû//Ṣāḫitu and Balāṭu/Arad-Nabû//Ṣāḫitu who were expelled from the temple.
Nabonidus demands that the breast cuts of the ram from the morning sacrifice be designated as royal income.
The ērib bīti should receive six breast meat cuts and the flour from the regular offerings (sattukku), with Nabû-šumu-līšir/Ibni-ili, receiving a privileged share.
The double-doored gate (bīt muterrēti) is to be plastered as it was during the reign of Nebuchadnezzar
Nabû-šarru-uṣur is to collect the barley income (pappasu) of the royal prebends in Eanna
Ten new fishermen will be granted prebend in the Eanna.
The ration of “the king's daughter” is to be allocated to the king's chest.
Notes
The text was composed during the time Nabonidus was in Larsa. The presence of blank spaces left for the later insertion of witnesses’ names in lines 3, 6 and 7 suggests that the document was a draft.
Nabonidus' decrees are characterised by their explicit reference to the traditions established under Nebuchadnezzar. See also PTS 2097 edited by Frame 1991 and Kleber 2008, 279-281.
