Bēl-na’id, the slave (qallu) of Nabû-šarru-uṣur, spoke (qabû) in front of a group of freemen (mār banî) to his son Ša-Nabû-išlim that he should not engage in any business (maḫīru epēšu) with members of the household of Nabû-šarru-uṣur, nor with any other men associated with that household, nor with (its) shepherds (rē’û) and herdsmen (nāqidu). Non-compliance will result in Nabû-šarru-uṣur’s penalty (= ḫīṭu clause).
The 5 freemen (mār banî) are: Šamaš-zēru-iqiša/Mušēzib-Bēl//Rēmūt-Ea; Innin-zēru-ušabši/Rēmūtu; Šamaš-bān-aḫi/Imbiya//Ḫanab; Zēria/Nanaya-iddin//Šangû-parakki; Anu-iddin/Arad-Innin//Balāṭu
The scribe is Bazuzu/Nādinu, in Uruk.
