Paraphrase | About the title to a promissory note for silver. A drew up (e’ēlu) the document (u’iltu) about the 34 shekels of medium quality (nuhhutu) silver of which 1/8 is alloy (bitqu) that is due from B. However, it was C who provided A with the silver for the loan (lit. these 34 shekels of silver belong to C) and it was he who asked for (ana naši ṣibûti) the document to be drawn up (e’ēlu). A has therefore promptly returned it and handed it over (târu D-nadānu) to C. Wherever a duplicate of the promissory note turns up, it belongs to C. See also BM33131 (Dar 489). Fragmentary list of witnesses and the scribe: Nabû-uṣuršu/Kittia//Šangû-Ea. A = Bēl-ittannu/Iqīša-Marduk//Ur-Nanna; B = Itti-Bēl-lummir/Ša-Nabû-šū; C = Marduk-nāṣir-apli/Itti-Marduk-balāṭu//Egibi |
