Paraphrase | Receipt of silver from the head of the Egibi family. Undertaking to pay remainder upon return from Elam. By order of the Governor of Babylon. A gave (iddin [nadānu]) by order of (ina qibi) C, Governor of Babylon (šākin ṭēmi), something to B for 1/2 mina of white silver from Nisan (I) of the xth (=broken) year of Darius till the end of Addar of the 24th year. It remains unclear what A gave to B because the relevant passage is broken. From this (ina libbi), A receives (mahāru) 10 shekels of white silver from B and the remainder (rēhu) of 1/3 mina of silver B shall pay (nadānu) to A in Babylon upon his return from Elam. Names of 3 witnesses and the scribe. A=Nidintu/Ardia; B=Širku/Iddinaya//Egibi (=Marduk-nāṣir-apli/Itti-Marduk-balāṭu//Egibi); C=Ina-Esagil-lilbur/Nabû-šumu-ukīn//Ša-nāšīšu, (šākin ṭēmi of Babylon) |
