Paraphrase | Promissory note for barley. The document starts by stating that B owes barley (3 kor c. 540 liters) to A and continues by stipulating the terms for repayment. It is agreed that he will deliver the barley in Yahud. Delivery is due the same month (2nd month) and coincides with the barley harvest season. The background of the debt is described in much detail. We learn that the indebted barley the estimated income (imittu) from part (zittu) of a field (eqlu) that had been given to the Judean šušānû-s (šušānê Yahudaya) who belong to the Across-the-River (ebir nāri) unit for tax related matters; the field and collection of its income were managed by C.
