Promissory note for dates and barley.
The document starts by stating that B owes dates of good quality (babbanû) (6;0.5 kor, c. 1,100 liters) and barley (5 kor, c. 900 liters) to A and continues by stipulating the terms for repayment. It is agreed that he will deliver the dates and barley during the harvest seasons: the dates in the 7th month and the barley in the 8th month. He does not have to pay interest (ina qaqqadi). The document is written on the 18th of the 4th month, shortly after the barley harvest, and two and a half to three and a half months before the delivery date. The debtor’s mother (fC) guarantees for the delivery. Names of 3 witnesses and the scribe: Šamaš-uṣur/Ṣillaya.
A = Ṭūb-Yāw/Mukkêa; B = Rapā/Samak-Yāw; fC = fYapa-Yāḫȗ
