Paraphrase | List of silver expenditures for rations to multiple recipients (workmen). Dated. The text begins with a heading that explains its content: it records the giving out of salary (kurummatu) in the form of silver(*). In the remaining text, the document lists amounts of shekels in connection to those who receive them. In most cases, the individuals are not recorded by their names but by their occupation: one finds among them a smith (nappāhu), a master builder (arad ekalli), a winnower (habbišu), a leatherworker (aškāpu), a reedworker (atkuppu) and a launderer (pūṣaja). In two instances, individuals are grouped under the formula “the workmen of PN” (ṣābu ša PN). (*)Lines 1-2 read […] / [kaspu ša] ana kurummāti na[dna?], wr. S[UM-na]. Between a record of transfer and an inventory. |
