Nabû-mušētiq-uddi/Innin-ina-tēšî-ēṭir//Ekur-zākir (NMU) approached Nabû-mukīn-apli/Nādinu//Dābibi (NMA), High Priest (šatammu) of Eanna, and requested initiation (gullubu) as the prebendary brewer (isiq sirāšûti) before the Lady of Uruk.

NMA asks now Innin-aplu-uṣur/Nabû-balāssu-iqbi//Ekur-zākir (IAU) and Šamaš-zēru-iddin/Aḫulāp-Ištar//Ekur-zākir (ŠZI) whether NMU owes the prebend (isqu), if his mother is pure (ellu), and if NMU is fit (ṭābu) for the initiation (gullubu). IAU and ŠZI declare in the assembly (puḫru) of freemen (mār bānî) that NMU is the prebend owner (bēl isqi) and his mother is pure. The writing board (lē’u) at the Place-of-Light (kizalāqi) of the Lady of Uruk is examined (amāru), where (prebendal) days are written (šaṭāru) in the name of Marduk-šumu-ibni, the brother of NMU’s paternal grandfather.

Appointment of a prebendary brewer. Nabû-mušētiq-uddê/Innin-ina-tēši-ēṭir//Ekur-zākir comes before Nabû-mukīn-apli/Nādinu//Dābibī, bishop (šatammu) of Eanna, to request the income right of a prebendary-brewer. Nabû-mukīn-apli asks Ištar-aplu-uṣur/Nabû-balāssu-iqbi//Ekur-zākir and Šamaš-zēru-iddin/Aḫulap-Innin//Ekur-zākir if he has the right and if his mother is “pure” (elletu). Both men confirmed this to the assembly of mār banê. Inspection of the temple register confirms the prebend had been in the name of his great-uncle, Marduk-šumu-ibni.
