Paraphrase

Bānia/Bēl-zēri swears by Bēl, Nabû and the majesty (adê) of Cambyses to Gimil-Šamaš/Bēl-ēṭir and Bēl-eṭēri-Šamaš/Sîn-ēreš that by Cam. 01.VI.15 he will give them in one installment 15;0,1 dates, which are property of Eanna at his disposal (ina pāni), and that, if he fails to bring these 15;0,1 dates by this day, he will per each 1;0,3 pay 20;0,1 dates in the measure (mašīḫu) of the Lady of Uruk in one installment, and that, non-compliance will result in the king’s punishment (ḫīṭu clause).

Legacy Paraphrase

Bāniya/Bēl-zēri swears by the gods and the adê of the king to deliver within 9 days 15;1.1 kurru of dates to Gimil-Šamaš/Bēl-ēṭir and Bēl-eṭēri-Šamaš/Sîn-ēreš (representatives of the temple). Otherwise, he will pay a moratorium penalty of 33%. In case of a complete default he will suffer the punishment (ḫīṭu) of the king. Three witnesses and Kīnāya/Kidinnu, the scribe.
