Obligation to give back disbursed salaries due to the workers’ idleness.
200 kor of dates were given (nadānu, wr. sum-na) to A1–10, all probably chiefs of ploughmen (rab epinni),* to be given as salaries (kurummatu) for their ploughmen (ikkaru), described in the text as vacillating (samû). Whatever the actual problem was, the ploughmen did not perform the planned work. Thus, A1–10 are now obligated to give back in Simān (III) the 200 kor dates, or alternatively 200 kor of barley, to the treasury (makkūru).
This is apart (elat) from 100 kor [...] year 0a of king [...] and 60 kor [...] for the salaries of the corvée workers (urāšu) [...].
The tablet is drafted in the presence (ina ušuzzu) of B1, temple administrator (šatammu) of Eanna, and B2, the royal supervisor (ša rēš šarri bēl piqitti) of Eanna. Names of 3 witnesses and a scribe.* compare to the list in TCL 13, 152.
