Kidin-Marduk/Nabû-šumu-ukīn//Ēṭiru and Bēl-iddin/Iqīša-Marduk//Ēṭiru guarantee to Nabû-mukīn-apli/Nādinu//Dābibī, High Priest (šatammu) of Eanna, that Ilē’i-Marduk/Nabû-šumu-ukīn//Ēṭiru will go to Babylon. They will go there to Nabūgu (Gubāru’s son) in m.IV. Should they go elsewhere, they will bear the punishment of Gubāru, Governor (paḫātu) of Babylonia and Across-the-River (ḫīṭu clause).

Presentation of accused. Kidin-Marduk/Nabû-šumu-ukīn//Eṭēri and Bēl-iddin/Iqīša-Marduk//Eṭēri promise to present Ile’i-Marduk/Nabû-šumu-ukīn//Eṭēri to Gubaru's son, Nabūgu, in the presence of Nabû-mukīn-apli/Nādinu//Dābibī, bishop (šatammu) of Eanna, in Babylon by the end of the month, or else they will suffer the punishment (ḫīṭu) of Gubaru, governor (paḫātu) of Babylon and Transeuphrates. Four witnesses and Nabû-mušētiq-uddê/Nūrea//Iddin-Papsukkal, the scribe.

Paraphrase 2

Summon of a man to Babylon and guarantee for his arrival at the set date. Penalty at default.

A1* and A2* guarantee (pūtu našû) to B, the temple administrator (šatammu) of Eanna, that C* will go to (alāku) Babylon in Dûzu (IV, i.e. this month) and stand before (ana pāni) D.

If C won’t go, A1 and A2 will bear the punishment of (hīṭu ša) E, the governor (pīhātu) of Babylon and Across-the-river.
