Pir’u/Eanna-šumu-ibni, Balāṭu/Ištar-zēru-iddin and Arad-Ištar/Bēl-aḫḫē-iddin bear the responsibility (pūtu našû) of the guard (maṣṣartu) of Eanna. The oblates (širku), who are in the centre of the city and who the High Priest (šatammu) and Nabû-aḫu-iddin (NAI) for the guard of Eanna wrote down (šaṭāru) and gave (nadānu), they will call up (dekû) in order to be on guard (naṣāru) in the environs of Eanna (limītu). The one who is neglectful (šelû) will bear (šadādu) the punishment (ḫīṭu) of Gubāru, the governor (pīḫātu) of Babylon and Across-the-River (eber nāri). Written in the presence of (ina ušuzzi) the High Priest of Eanna Nabû-mukīn-apli/Nādinu/Dābibī and the royal courtier of the agent (ša-rēš-šarri bēl-piqitti) of Eanna NAI. 2 witnesses and the scribe Nādinu/Bēl-aḫḫē-iqīša/Egibi.

Guarantee for the performance of guard duty in the temple (along with temple-serfs). Penalty in case of default.

A1, A2, and A3, guarantee (pūtu našû) for guard duty (maṣṣartu) of the outer wall (limītu) of the Eanna temple. They will levy (dekû) the temple-serfs (širku) of the inner city (qabaltu āli) whom B1, the temple administrator (šatammu) of Eanna, and B2, the courtier and royal supervisor (ša rēš šarri bēl piqitti) of Eanna, registered (šaṭāru).

Whoever neglects his guard duty will (šadādu) the punishment (hīṭu) of C, the governor (pīhātu) of Babylon and Across-the-river.

The tablet is drafted in the presence (ina ušuzzu) of B1 and B2. The names of 3 witnesses are preserved, the third of whom is probably the scribe.
