Debt note for šibšu-tax in barley.
A owes (ina muhhi) 100 kor of barley, property (makkūru) of the Lady-of-Uruk and Nanāya. It is charged against him as part of (ina) the šibšu-tax from land (qaqqaru) (owned by the temple) in Til-hurāṣi (and assigned to) the archers (qaštu), who had been released (nahāsu, Š) from the service (lit. department/section, bābu) of the governor (šakin māti).
For an unknown reason, not A, but B, the canal inspector (gugallu), will pay the barley with the measure (mašīhu) of the Lady-of-Uruk in Ayyār (II) at Nār-šarri. Then, C will issue (nadānu) it for the regular offerings (ginû) of the Lady-of-Uruk.
The text then clarifies further that B will deliver the barley to Uruk and carry (našû) it to C’s house.
Names of 3 witnesses and a scribe.
Added note after the date formula: this is apart from the tithe (ešru), which they (probably A+B) will pay (at a later date).
A= Innin-šumu-ibni/Balāssu; B= Nergal-šumu-uṣur, canal inspector (gugallu); C= Nabû-šarru-uṣur, known as supervisor (bēl piqitti) of Eanna.
