Paraphrase | Debt note for cuscuta from a sharecropper. A owes (ina muhhi) 2 measures (mešhatu) of cuscuta, the share (zittu) (due from him) from land (qaqqaru) (owned by the temple) in (ša) the estate (šīhu) of Bīt-Sîn-ašarēd. The cuscuta is the property (makkūru) of the Lady-of-Uruk and Nanāya and pertains (ša) to the rent farm (sūtu) of B1 and B2 (who had leased the license to collect rent on behalf of the temple). A will deliver the cuscuta in Kislīm (IX). This is apart (elat) from 4 kor of cuscuta, the share charged against C, as well from the earlier debt note (uˀiltu). It is not clear whether this earlier debt note pertains to A or C. Names of 2 witnesses and a scribe. Written at the Estate (šīhu) of Bīt-Sîn-ašarēd, [estate?] of the Lady-of-Uruk. A= Nabû-mušētiq-uddê/Nergal-ibni; B1= Nergal-nāṣir/Nanāya-ibni; B2= Zērbibi/Nabû-ēṭer-napšāti; C= Kinēnāya/Nergal-ibni. |
