Paraphrase Purchase of a house: A purchases an empty house plot (bītu kišubbû) for 56 shekels of silver in pieces (šibirtu), together with an additional payment (atru) of 2 shekels of silver, from B1 and B2. The upper side and the lower side of the land border on the houses of C1 and C2. Its upper front borders on the thoroughfare (mūtaqu) of the god and the king and its lower front on an orchard already owned by the buyer. The cardinal directions are not preserved. It is a square plot, each side measuring 100 cubits (50 m). The transaction is concluded in the presence of (ina uzuzzi) the governor (šākin ṭēmi) of Uruk (Nabû-ušabši). 9 witnesses and the scribe. Fingernail impressions (ṣupru) of the sellers.
