Paraphrase | Allotment of a share in profits. The Egibi brothers are among the shareholders. Two brothers from the Egibi family (B1 and B2) bought the right to collect the income in onions from the šibšu-impost (šibšu ša šūmi) for the 10th and 11th years of Darius that is the prerogative (lit. “property”, makkūru) of the temple of Bēl. They paid 42 1/2 minas of marked silver for this right to A, who is the king’s governor (bēl pihāti) in the Esagil temple (of Bēl) and responsible for the bow-land (qaštu) of D. The onions are in Šahrīnu and at the disposal (ina pāni) of B2 and his brother's agricultural workers (errēšu). It is agreed that the Egibi brothers and a third person (C) will share in the profits from this deal. At this point the tablet breaks off. Names of 4 witnesses and the scribe. A=Šaddinnu/Madān-ahhē-iddin//Šigûa; B1=Širku/Iddinaya//Egibi (=Marduk-nāṣir-apli/Itti-Marduk-balāṭu//Egibi); B2=Nabû-ahhē-bulliṭ/Itti-Marduk-balāṭu//Egibi; C=Marduk-nāṣir/Marduk-ušallim; D=Bēl-iddin |
